RK AHSI-320 and AHSI-450 Automatic Label Inspection Machine With Slitting

It is a roll to roll inspection rewinding machine built to carry an inspection system. The machine unwinds the printed roll, brings it past the inspection table, slits it and rewinds it. A camera and inspection software, fitted as an option, check the labels as the roll passes. The base machine is sold without the camera, and the base price does not include it.

Both models have a trolley type imported ultrasonic web guide on the unwinding unit and a second one before the slitting unit, an auto electronic tension controller on the unwind, a servo driven main nip roller, a 7" full touch HMI screen, a PLC based label and meter counter with auto stop, a 20" top inspection table and an air blower for waste trim collection. The slitting unit has razor and rotary blades with a bottom cutter, five of each, and the whole unit can be moved for slitting adjustment.

Two Sizes: 320 mm and 450 mm

The AHSI-320 takes a paper width up to 320 mm and the AHSI-450 up to 450 mm. Both unwind rolls up to 600 mm diameter on a 3" air shaft. The AHSI-320 rewinds rolls up to 450 mm diameter and the AHSI-450 up to 600 mm.

Camera Options: 2K, 4K or 8K cameras from E+L, Lucid or OK

RK fits the camera the customer chooses. The options are 2K, 4K or 8K cameras from E+L, Lucid or OK. The base price of the machine does not include the camera.

Mount Your Own Inspection System

The machine is built with a facility to mount an inspection system. A customer can take the machine without a camera and integrate their own system.

Two Trolley Type Web Guides

An imported ultrasonic based electronic web guide (brand Arise) on a trolley at the unwinding unit, and a second one before the slitting unit. A web guide with splicing table and paper holder is fitted for paper joining.

Unwind Tension Control

On the AHSI-320 an auto electronic tension controller with powder brake and load cell feedback (imported) controls unwind tension. The AHSI-450 uses an auto electronic tension controller with a servo motor.

Servo Nip Roller and Separate Pulling Motor

The main nip roller is driven by a servo motor. A separate motor near the unwinding unit is fitted for pulling not OK labels.

Razor and Rotary Blade Slitting

Razor blades and rotary blades with a bottom cutter, five pieces of each. The whole slitting unit can be moved for slitting adjustment, and an air blower collects the waste trim at the back of the machine.

7 Inch HMI and PLC Counting

A full touch 7" HMI screen sets the machine. A PLC based label counter and meter counter stop the machine at the set count.

Separate Rewinding Drive

The rewinding unit has a 3" air shaft driven by its own motor: a servo motor with variable speed drive on the AHSI-320, and a motor with torque drive on the AHSI-450.

The printed roll, up to 600 mm diameter, is loaded on the 3" air shaft of the unwinding unit. A trolley type ultrasonic web guide keeps the web centred and the tension controller holds it steady as it moves past the 20" top inspection table, where the inspection system, if fitted, checks the labels.

After the inspection table, a second web guide aligns the web for the slitting unit, where razor or rotary blades cut it into finished widths and the air blower removes the trim at the back of the machine. The PLC based counter stops the machine at the set label count or metre length, and the slit rolls wind on the 3" air shaft of the rewinding unit, up to 450 mm diameter on the AHSI-320 and 600 mm on the AHSI-450.

The AHSI runs most of the materials that RK's flexo printing machines print: self-adhesive label stock, paper, BOPP, PE and PET film, foil, lami tube and blister foil. RK runs a trial on the customer's own material before almost every order, so share your materials with RK before the specification is fixed. The AHSI takes paper widths up to 320 mm (AHSI-320) or 450 mm (AHSI-450), on rolls up to 600 mm in diameter.

The price of the AHSI depends on the model (320 mm or 450 mm), the camera chosen or whether you supply your own inspection system, and the slitting blade sets. The base machine price does not include the camera.
