Manual Label Inspection Machine – RK IS-320 Roll to Roll Inspection Rewinder

It is an inspection rewinder: a machine that unwinds a printed label roll, passes it over a table where the operator inspects it, and rewinds it onto a new core – with a count of the labels and metres that have gone through. There is no camera or vision software; the inspection is done by the operator, which keeps the machine simple, compact and economical to run.

The unwinding unit takes rolls up to 600 mm diameter on a 3" air shaft, with tension set by a mechanical brake and an imported ultrasonic based electronic web guide keeping the web aligned. The 30" inspection table gives a long viewing area. The rewinding unit has a 3" air shaft, takes rolls up to 600 mm diameter and is tension controlled by a mechanical clutch. A 1 HP AC variable speed motor on a Schneider VFD drives the machine, controlled by a foot switch so the operator's hands stay free.

30" Top Inspection Table

A long, top-mounted table gives the operator a clear, wide view of the passing labels, with enough length to see several repeats at once.

Imported Ultrasonic Web Guide

An imported ultrasonic based electronic web guide on the unwinding side keeps the web tracking straight over the table and onto the rewind, so the finished roll has clean, even edges.

Panasonic Label Counting Sensor With Auto Stop

A Panasonic label counting sensor and meter counter, with auto stop control, let the operator set a label quantity or length and have the machine stop exactly there.

Mechanical Brake and Clutch Tension Control

Unwind tension is controlled by a mechanical brake and rewind tension by a mechanical clutch – simple, reliable and easy to adjust for different label stocks.

Schneider Variable Frequency Drive

The motor runs on a Schneider VFD for smooth speed control up to 50 m/min.

Compact, Single Phase Machine

At 3.75 ft high, 3.2 ft wide and 3.75 ft long, running on 1 HP single phase, the IS-320 fits in any label unit without special power or floor preparation.

The printed roll is placed on the 3" air shaft of the unwinding unit and the mechanical brake is set for the label stock. The web is threaded over the 30" inspection table and onto a core on the 3" air shaft of the rewinding unit. The operator enters the required label count or metre length on the counter.

Using the foot switch, the operator runs the web, watches the labels pass over the table and stops whenever something needs a closer look, a mark or a repair. The ultrasonic web guide keeps the web straight, and the Panasonic sensor counts each label. When the set count or length is reached, the auto stop halts the machine and the finished, counted roll is removed from the rewinding unit.
