A wristband making machine is a converting line that turns two paper rolls into finished, self-adhesive paper wristbands. The band's face paper carries the print, and the release paper carries a strip of hot melt adhesive under the closure tab, so the band can be wrapped and sealed around a wrist and cannot be removed without tearing.

The RK machine is built as a die cutting and lamination line. Two unwind stations with electronic ultrasonic web guides feed the paper and the release paper. A hot melt glue station with a slotter die sized to the release paper width lays the adhesive. The lamination section sandwiches the paper with the hot melt coated release paper. A rotary die cutting unit with a nip roller and an 80 teeth magnet cylinder cuts the wristband shape, using a flexible die made to your design. A short conveyor and a long vacuum conveyor deliver the bands to a collecting tray.

Two Unwind Stations to Ø 600 mm

The paper roll and the release paper roll each unwind on their own station, both taking rolls to Ø 600 mm on a 3 inch (75 mm) air shaft.

Ultrasonic Web Guides on Both Unwinds

Imported electronic ultrasonic guides keep both webs aligned before they meet, so the adhesive strip and the printed face line up band after band.

Load Cell Paper Tension and Powder Brake Release Tension

Paper tension is held by an automatic electronic tension controller with load cell feedback. Release paper tension is held by a powder brake with an amp meter. Both webs stay flat and stable through glueing, lamination and cutting.

Hot Melt Glue Station With Slotter Die

Hot melt adhesive is applied through a slotter die sized to the release paper width, laying a clean strip exactly where the closure needs it.

Rotary Die Cutting on an 80 Teeth Magnet Cylinder

One rotary die cutting unit with a nip roller and an 80 teeth magnet cylinder cuts the band. The flexible die is made to your wristband design, so band length, punch holes, tear line and tab shape are yours rather than a fixed pattern.

Vacuum Conveyor With Batch Coding Mounting Point

After the die, a short conveyor leads to a long conveyor with vacuum hold-down, which keeps light bands flat at speed and provides a mounting point for a batch coding unit if bands need numbering.

3 HP Three Phase Drive With VFD

A 3 HP three phase AC main motor with variable speed through a VFD drives the line.

The operator loads the printed or plain paper roll on the first unwind and the release paper roll on the second, both on 3 inch air shafts. The ultrasonic guides line up the two webs and the tension systems, load cell on the paper and powder brake on the release paper, hold them steady. The release paper passes the hot melt glue station, where the slotter die lays a strip of adhesive across the width that will become the closure.

The glued release paper and the face paper then meet at the lamination section and are pressed together into one web. This laminated web enters the rotary die cutting unit, where the flexible die on the 80 teeth magnet cylinder, backed by the nip roller, cuts the band outline, punch holes and tear line. The finished bands travel along the short conveyor onto the long vacuum conveyor, which holds them flat, passes them under the optional batch coder, and delivers them to the collecting tray at the end. The 3 HP VFD drive sets the line speed.
