RK TS-500 POS Roll Slitting Machine With Two Colour Printing

It is a roll-to-roll paper slitting and rewinding machine built for thermal paper, with two flexo printing units placed before the slitting section. A jumbo reel of thermal paper is unwound, printed in two colours, dried, slit into the required widths and rewound as finished POS rolls, ready for packing.

The printing side is what sets it apart from a plain POS roll making machine. Two colours are enough for a logo and a tagline, or a brand colour and a black text line, on one side of the receipt paper, or one colour on the front and one on the back, for retailers, banks and fuel stations who order branded rolls. The slitting side handles the everyday job of converting jumbo reels into 57 mm, 79 mm and similar retail widths.

Printing and Slitting in One Pass

The web is printed, dried and slit on one frame, in one continuous run. This saves floor space and handling time compared to printing on one machine and slitting on another, and it removes the risk of misaligned print when the roll is re-run.

Two Colour Printing Units

Two flexo units let you print a two colour design on the paper. A logo in one colour and text in another is the usual layout for branded thermal rolls. The machine prints two colours on one side, or one colour on the front and one on the back.

Built for Thermal Paper

Thermal paper is heat sensitive and marks easily. The machine's web path and drying are arranged for this material so the printed and slit rolls come out clean, without heat marks or scuffing on the coated side.

Slitting to Standard POS Widths

Slitter positions are set to the roll widths you supply, so one jumbo reel yields several finished rolls of the same width in each pass.

Rewinding Into Tight, Even Rolls

Finished rolls need a firm, even wind so they run smoothly in printers. The rewinding section produces rolls that are ready to pack without re-rolling. The rewinding unit takes manual shafts for 13 mm, 19 mm and 25.4 mm cores, three of each, with rolls up to 200 mm in diameter; shafts for other core sizes are made to order.

Compact Footprint

The complete printing, slitting and rewinding line occupies a footprint of 13 ft in length, 6 ft in width and 7 ft in height.

The jumbo reel of thermal paper is loaded on the unwinding side and the web is threaded through the two printing units. Each unit carries the plate for one colour and applies ink to the paper as it passes. The printed web is dried and moves on to the slitting section, where rotary blades (top and bottom cutters, ten sets) set at the required widths cut the wide web into narrow strips.

The strips are wound on the rewinding side into individual POS rolls. The operator sets the roll length, and when the target is reached the finished rolls are removed and cores are loaded for the next set. Because printing and slitting happen in one pass, the design is placed correctly on every roll without any separate registration step.
