RK MRL 400 Manual Roll Lifter – Paper Sticker Roll Lifter up to 150 kg
01 — Overview
Manual Roll Lifter Manufacturer in India
Loading a paper roll onto a label press or a slitter is the one job on the shop floor that still needs two or three people, a lot of shouting and a strong back. A 150 kg roll of sticker paper does not lift itself onto an unwind shaft at chest height, and every manual lift risks a dropped roll, a damaged edge or an injured operator.
The RK MRL 400 Manual Roll Lifter is the answer RK offers for that job. It is a hand-operated lifter that picks up a paper or sticker roll from the floor or a pallet and raises it to the height of the machine's unwind shaft, so one operator can load a roll up to 150 kg on their own. RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. manufactures it in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, alongside the presses and converting machines it serves.
If your label unit still loads rolls by hand, this page explains what the roll lifter does, how it works with your machines and how to decide whether it is the right size for your rolls.

03 — What Is It
What Is the RK MRL 400 Manual Roll Lifter?
A manual roll lifter is a wheeled lifting unit with a cradle or spindle that supports a roll and a hand-operated mechanism that raises and lowers it. It needs no electrical or pneumatic supply, so it can be moved to any machine in the plant and used wherever a roll has to be lifted.
The RK MRL 400 is rated for paper sticker rolls up to 150 kg, which covers the standard reels used on RK's flexo presses, tower machines, die cutters, slitters and inspection machines. The operator wheels the lifter to the roll, engages it, raises it to the shaft height, rolls the lifter to the machine and slides the roll onto the unwind. Unloading a finished rewind roll works the same way in reverse.
04 — Key Features
Key Features of the RK MRL 400 Manual Roll Lifter
150 kg Lifting Capacity
The published lifting capacity is up to 150 kg for paper sticker rolls, which matches the reel sizes most narrow web label converters run day to day.
Manual Operation, No Power Needed
The lifter is hand-operated. There is no motor, battery or air line to connect, so it is ready to use anywhere on the floor and there is nothing electrical to maintain.
One-Operator Roll Loading
With the lifter doing the lifting, one person can load and unload rolls that previously needed two or three. Labour is freed for production, and the roll change is faster and calmer.
Safer Handling
Rolls are raised and moved on the lifter instead of being carried, dragged or rolled across the floor. That protects the operator's back and hands and protects the roll edges from the damage that leads to web breaks and waste.
Mobile Across the Plant
The unit moves on wheels, so a single lifter can serve the press in the morning, the slitter after lunch and the inspection machine in the evening.
Built for Label Converting Rolls
RK builds the lifter to suit the reel diameters, core sizes and shaft heights of its own machines, so it fits the equipment in a typical RK label line without adaptation.
05 — How It Works
How Does the RK MRL 400 Roll Lifter Work?
The operator wheels the lifter up to the roll where it sits on the floor or pallet and engages the roll on the lifter's support. Using the hand mechanism, the roll is raised clear of the ground and up to the height of the machine's unwind shaft. Because the lifting is mechanical, the operator controls the height precisely and can stop at exactly the point where the roll core lines up with the shaft.
The lifter is then rolled to the machine and the roll is slid onto the shaft. Once the roll is secured, the lifter is lowered and wheeled away. Finished rolls coming off the rewind are removed the same way: the lifter takes the weight, the roll is slid off the shaft, lowered and moved to the pallet. The whole exchange is done by one person without lifting anything by hand.
06 — Applications
Applications of the Manual Roll Lifter
- Flexo and tower press loading – lifting sticker paper reels onto the unwind of label printing machines.
- Slitting and rewinding machines – loading jumbo and stock lot rolls and removing finished rolls.
- Die cutting machines – handling printed rolls between the press and the die cutter.
- Inspection and rewinding – moving rolls to and from inspection machines.
- Roll stores and dispatch – lifting rolls onto and off pallets and trolleys.
- Any narrow web converting plant – wherever rolls up to 150 kg are changed regularly.
