RK MHC Half Cutting Machine – Manual Sticker Half Cut, Perforating & Creasing Machine
01 — Overview
Half Cutting Machine Manufacturer in India
Anyone who has peeled a sticker from a sheet knows the small convenience of a slit in the backing paper. Bend the sheet at that slit and the label lifts on its own. That slit is a half cut, also called a back score, and it is put there by a half cutting machine that cuts through the release paper without touching the face paper.
The RK MHC is RK's manual half cutting, perforating and creasing machine. It takes sticker stock up to 24 inches wide with a release paper of 40 to 150 GSM, and runs a set of ten rotary blade guns across the web with a minimum gap of 16 mm between any two blades. The same machine perforates and creases by swapping the blade type. A 0.5 HP AC variable speed motor drives it on a single phase supply, and the whole unit measures 2 ft high, 2.5 ft wide and 1.2 ft long. RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. manufactures it in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
This page is for label printers, sticker sheet converters and packaging units who want a compact sticker scoring machine for half cutting, perforating or creasing without tying up a printing press for the job.

03 — What Is It
What Is the RK MHC Half Cutting Machine?
A half cut sticker label cutting machine cuts partway through a laminated web so that only the liner, or only the face, is scored. On self-adhesive stock this is used to add back slits that make labels easy to peel, to perforate sheets so that labels tear off cleanly, and to crease heavier stock so it folds without cracking.
The RK MHC does all three with rotary blades mounted on a shaft above the web. Because it is a manual machine, the operator sets the blade positions and the paper is fed through at a speed set on the variable speed control. It is a light, single phase unit that sits beside a press or a slitter rather than a full production line.
04 — Key Features
Key Features of the RK MHC Half Cutting Machine
24 Inch Paper Feeding Width
The machine accepts sticker stock up to 24 inches wide, which covers the common sheet and roll widths used by sheet-fed and roll-fed label printers in India.
Ten Rotary Blade Gun Set
Ten rotary blade guns can be positioned across the web. Each blade holder is set independently, so the operator can score at whatever spacing the label layout needs, subject to the 16 mm minimum gap between two blades.
Half Cutting, Perforating and Creasing on One Machine
The rotary blade holders take cutting, perforating or creasing tools. The same frame therefore handles back slits on sticker sheets, tear-off perforations and fold creases on thicker stock.
40 to 150 GSM Release Paper Range
The published range for the release paper is a minimum of 40 GSM and a maximum of 150 GSM. This spans the light glassine liners used on most sticker paper as well as the heavier kraft liners.
Variable Speed Single Phase Drive
A 0.5 HP AC main motor with variable speed control runs the machine on a single phase supply. There is no need for a three phase connection, which makes it easy to place in a small unit.
Compact Footprint
At 2 ft high, 2.5 ft wide and 1.2 ft long, the machine fits on a bench or a small stand next to the press it serves.
05 — How It Works
How Does the RK MHC Sticker Half Cut Machine Work?
The operator decides where the scores need to fall on the sheet or web, then slides the rotary blade guns along the shaft to those positions and locks them, keeping at least 16 mm between neighbouring blades. Blade depth is set so that the rotary blade cuts through the release paper only, leaving the face paper and the adhesive untouched. For perforating, a perforating wheel replaces the plain blade; for creasing, a creasing tool is fitted instead.
With the tools set, the sticker stock is fed into the 24 inch throat and the variable speed drive pulls it through under the blades at a speed the operator is comfortable with. The result is a sheet or web with clean back slits, perforations or creases running along its length. Because the machine is manual, changeover between layouts is a matter of moving blade holders rather than changing a die, which suits printers who run many small jobs.
06 — Applications
Applications of the Half Cutting Machine
- Sticker sheets with back slits – adding the peel-off score on the liner of A4 and custom sticker sheets.
- Label rolls – back scoring roll stock so labels lift easily on the packing line.
- Perforated sheets – tear-off coupons, tickets and label sheets that need to separate by hand.
- Creased stock – heavier paper and board that must fold without cracking.
- Stationery and print shops – short-run scoring and perforating work done in-house.
07 — Materials
What Materials Can It Handle?
The RK MHC is specified for self-adhesive sticker stock with a release paper between 40 and 150 GSM and a maximum width of 24 inches. Half cutting works on standard paper-liner sticker material; perforating and creasing tools extend the machine to plain paper and light board within the same width. Send RK a sample of your stock so the blade type and depth can be confirmed for it.
09 — Why RK
Why Choose RK Label Machines?
RK Label Printing Machinery Pvt. Ltd. has manufactured label printing and converting machinery in Ahmedabad, Gujarat since 1995, operates three manufacturing units and supplies customers in 23+ countries. Auxiliary machines like the RK MHC are built with the same care as the presses and die cutters they support, and RK's engineers know how a half cut or a perforation has to behave on the label line, because they build the machines that run the stock afterwards. Spares, blades and service come from the same factory.
10 — Selection Guide
How to Select the Right Half Cutting Machine
- Stock width: the RK MHC feeds up to 24 inches. Check your widest sheet or roll.
- Liner weight: release paper must fall between 40 and 150 GSM.
- Number of scores: ten blade positions are available, with a 16 mm minimum between two blades.
- Operations needed: half cutting only, or perforating and creasing too. The machine handles all three with the right tools.
- Power available: it runs on a 0.5 HP single phase supply, so no three phase connection is required.
- Volume: for short and medium runs a manual machine is practical; for continuous high-volume back scoring, ask RK about inline options on a slitter or die cutter.
11 — Price
Half Cutting Machine Price in India
The price of the RK MHC half cutting machine depends on the blade set supplied, the tooling for perforating and creasing, and any options you require. Prices are quoted ex-works Ahmedabad with GST at 18% applicable. Transport and stay for the RK engineer who installs the machine and trains your operators at your site are borne by the customer. Share your stock width, liner weight and the operations you need, and RK will confirm the configuration and quote against it.
