Micro Flexo Printing Machine – RK-MRF-220 Two Colour Flexo With Rotary Die Cutting

The Micro Flexo is a mini flexo printing machine designed for narrow rolls of self-adhesive label stock. "Micro" refers to its size and web width, not to its build – it uses the same rotary flexo principle as RK's larger tower machines, with a ceramic anilox roll metering ink onto a printing cylinder that transfers the image to the moving web.

The standard configuration, model RK-MRF-220 / 02, has two printing units, each with an IR dryer and hot air dryer system, followed by one rotary die cutting unit and a waste rewinding unit. The machine is supplied with three sets of printing cylinders as per the customer's label sizes, and the anilox roll is chosen to suit the ink coverage of the work. A 3 HP three phase AC variable speed motor drives the line, and an electronic meter counter with auto stop lets the operator set a job length and let the machine stop itself.

Two Colour Printing With Rotary Die Cutting in One Frame

The web goes through two flexo printing units and then straight into a rotary die cutting unit. Printed and die cut labels come off the machine ready for use, without a separate die cutting pass.

IR Dryer With Hot Air on Both Units

Each printing unit has an IR dryer with hot air dryer system. The ink is set before the web reaches the next colour or the die station, which keeps registration clean and prevents smudging on the rewind.

Ceramic Anilox Roll Chosen for the Job

The ceramic anilox roll is supplied as per your requirement. A finer anilox suits text and fine lines; a coarser one suits solid areas. RK selects it against the type of labels you plan to print.

Three Sets of Printing Cylinders Included

Three printing cylinder sets are supplied as per your label repeat sizes, so the machine is ready to run three common label formats from day one.

Variable Speed AC Drive

A 3 HP three phase AC variable speed control motor system lets the operator run the machine slowly during setup and bring it up to production speed once registration is set.

Electronic Meter Counter With Auto Stop

The operator enters the required length in metres and the machine stops automatically when the count is reached. This makes it easy to produce fixed-quantity rolls for each customer.

Compact Footprint

The machine measures about 6 ft high, 4 ft wide and 5 ft long. It fits into a small print shop or a corner of a packaging unit without a dedicated hall.

The label roll is mounted on the unwinding unit and the web is threaded through the first printing unit. Here the ceramic anilox roll picks up ink, meters it evenly and transfers it to the raised image on the printing cylinder, which presses it onto the moving web. The IR dryer and hot air system set the first colour immediately, and the web moves into the second printing unit where the second colour is printed in register with the first.

After the second dryer the web enters the rotary die cutting unit. A rotary die cuts the label shape through the face stock while leaving the liner intact. The waste matrix – the skeleton left between labels – is pulled away onto the waste rewinding unit, and the finished labels wind neatly on the rewinding unit. The electronic meter counter tracks the length and stops the machine when the set quantity is complete.

The Micro Flexo is built for roll-fed self-adhesive label stock up to 220 mm wide – chromo paper, art paper and thermal stock are the common choices, along with synthetic label films where the IR and hot air drying suits the ink.
