MRF-220 2 Colour Flexo Printing Machine With IR Dryer and Rotary Die Cutting

The MRF-220 / 02 is a narrow web flexo rotary printing machine with two printing units and one rotary die cutting unit in a single compact frame. It is aimed at printers and packaging units that need a mini flexo printing machine for short and medium label runs, rather than a full width press.

Each printing unit uses a ceramic anilox roll to meter ink onto the printing cylinder, and each is followed by an IR dryer with hot air dryer system. Three sets of printing cylinders are supplied to suit your label repeat sizes. The machine has unwinding, rewinding and waste rewinding units, a 3 HP three phase AC variable speed motor and an electronic meter counter with auto stop. It stands about 6 ft high, 4 ft wide and 5 ft long.

Two Independent Printing Units

Both colours are printed in one pass, each from its own anilox roll and printing cylinder. The second colour is placed in register with the first, so logos, borders and text lines sit exactly where the artwork puts them.

IR Dryer With Hot Air Dryer System on Each Unit

Ink is dried after each colour, not only at the end. This is what keeps the second colour from picking up wet ink from the first and keeps the printed web clean into the die cutting unit.

One Rotary Die Cutting Unit Inline

A rotary die cuts the printed labels to shape on the same machine. The matrix waste is taken away by the waste rewinding unit, and finished labels wind on the rewinding unit.

The ceramic anilox roll is selected as per your requirement, so text-heavy labels and solid-colour labels each get the right ink film.

Meter Counter With Auto Stop

Set the run length in metres and the machine stops on its own when the count is reached – useful for making fixed-length rolls for each customer.

The roll of label stock sits on the unwinding unit and the web is fed into the first printing unit. The ceramic anilox roll carries a measured film of ink to the printing cylinder, whose raised image transfers the first colour to the web. The IR dryer with hot air sets that colour before the web reaches the second unit, where the second colour is printed in register and dried the same way.

The printed web then passes through the rotary die cutting unit, where a rotary die cuts each label through the face stock while the liner stays whole. The waste rewinding unit pulls off the matrix, and the clean, die cut labels wind on the rewinding unit. The electronic meter counter counts the metres run and stops the machine automatically at the set length.

The machine runs roll-fed self-adhesive label stock up to 220 mm wide – chromo paper, art paper, thermal paper and synthetic label films suited to the IR and hot air drying on the machine. • Artwork: if any of your regular labels carry a second colour – logo, border, band – choose the 2 colour model. If everything is single colour text and barcodes, the 1 colour model is enough.
